What is Wedge Wire Screen
Wedge Wire screens are fabricated in pipe form from wires, A V-shaped profile wire is spirally wound around a cage of longitudinal support rods. Each intersecting point of these wires is fusion welded. The pitch of winding gives different spacing between two adjacent turns of wire. This space becomes passage for water to enter.
Less Maintenance
The continuous Wedge Wire slot design allows for lower entrance velocity of the water, reducing encrustation rates. The slot design also resists plugging and prevents sand from damaging pumps.
Pumping Costs
The high open area of the Wedge Wire well screen allows for water to enter the well freely, resulting in minimal drawdown and less energy usage by a pump.
